Our Uganda Team continued preparing for their upcoming November trip with a packing demo by the talented minimalist, Carmen Meeks, and a look into their sleeping accommodations. Our team is made up of 16 people who are excited to enter the final stages of prep for this long journey. The team will be traveling just over 24 hours before landing in the city of Kampala. There they will rest and shop before departing on a full day bus ride to the Bright Hope School. We will be with the kids for 4 days then transitioning to a safari experience before traveling home. The plan for their time is to be focused on relational connection with the kids. They are bringing games, soccer balls, arts and crafts, and open hearts to spend time loving on the kids and hearing their stories. Each team member has paid their own costs for the trip and will be your on-the-ground reporters. They will be experiencing first hand what your generosity has provided in education, housing, and basic needs. Be sure to stay tuned for updates on their trip, pictures, and the stories they will be bringing you.
Here are some ways you can begin to pray for the team:
- Safety In today’s culture there is always some level of risk traveling to a third world country. While we are prepared and well cared for, continued prayers for protection are welcomed.
- Stamina Travel and climate adjustment can cause anyone’s immune system to struggle. Pray for health and energy!
- Story We believe when we say yes to serving in ministry, God is active in both the participant and the recipient. Be in prayer for the team to have transformative connections with God during their time and for the kids to feel the presence of God in the team.
Thank you for journeying with us in prayer. Maybe it will be you on the next trip!
“Whoever welcomes a child like this in My name welcomes Me; and whoever welcomes Me is welcoming not Me, but the One who sent Me.” ~ Mark 9:37
